Recipients of the Governors’ Citation must meet the same eligibility requirements as recipients of the Governors’ Award; however, the Citation recognizes accomplishments of a lesser degree. The award is presented in recognition of outstanding and unique achievements by individuals, organizations, or companies whose accomplishments do not fall within the structure of the Chapter’s regular Area Awards.
a) The recipient may be recognized for achievements in the arts, sciences, or management of television or allied media.
b) Members of the Board of Governors may nominate individuals, companies, or organizations they believe merit recognition by the Board. Nominations must be submitted in writing and received in sufficient time to be considered at a Board of Governors meeting held at least one month prior to the presentation of the award.
c) The Board of Governors shall discuss the nominations at that meeting and then conduct a preliminary secret-ballot vote to determine, by majority vote, which nominees will be considered for the award.
d) The Board of Governors shall then conduct a second secret-ballot vote to select the recipient(s) of the Governors’ Citation. A favorable vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the Board members present at the meeting is required for the award to be presented.
